New Beginnings

Previously in my life I would have described myself as a busy body, multi-tasker, go-getter, or maniac. You know the type, running around, doing lots of different things at 500 miles per hour (and none of them very well). The result is that I did A LOT of things and went A LOT of places, at a high  rate of speed, grabbing little bits of life as it flew past my fingertips. Most of the time I was holding down at least two jobs!
I have traveled to Mexico,  Guatemala, Peru, Zambia, England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Jamaica, and New Zealand. Seriously there are probably more, I just cannot remember them right now.  I have tried many hobbies, to name a few: softball, volley ball, body-building (Ugg... I KNOW, it was a phase), knitting, crocheting, rock climbing, ice climbing, sea kayaking, mountaineering, backcountry camping, making lotions, harvesting mushrooms and wild herbs, sewing, gardening and  re-upholtering furniture. I have a tendency  to become fascinated, study, begin, and rarely finish projects before I move on to the next adventure or creative escapade.
So this is it, this is my new beginning.  Actually the new beginning started with the birth of my first child, Vera Love. I have essentially quit my 24/7 career of being a midwife, majorly reduced my hours at my side-job (waiting tables), and taken up the full time job of being a mother. I am not even sure of what this entails yet, but I am finding out everyday. I want to live a more intentional life, practice what I preach in every area, and enjoy every moment of every day. I want to refocus my eyes to see the beauty in the small things that surround me daily. This blog is going to document my life; My growing family, matters of the Spirit,  projects I am working on, places that I go, ideas on  intentional living, and research that I've come across (mainly about health, midwifery, and parenting).
